2.Psychology 1-credit labs begin meeting this week on Mon Jan 23.
3. Join us Friday, January 27th from 10:00 am - 11:30 am via Zoom, for an interactive conversation with Maurice Elias, Professor of Psychology and Director of the Rutgers Social-Emotional and Character Development (SECD) Lab about Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Register here.
Maurice will give us an overview of the key concepts of Social Emotional Learning, which include: managing emotions, developing social awareness, perspective taking, and responsible decision making and problem solving. During the conversation we will discuss the vital importance that emotions play on student learning and explore ways that SEL can benefit students at the college level. Together, we will explore ways to design our pedagogy to help students improve upon these key skills and discuss the future of SEL scholarship as it continues to gain more critical attention.
