Program Overview
The Certificate in Student Success Skills in Education (SSSE) is a fully online, non-credit professional development program that equips educators and student-support professionals with research-based strategies to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Designed for teachers, counselors, school mental health staff, after-school providers, and other professionals working directly with students, the SSSE program blends theory with practice to prepare participants to implement student success skills in any learning setting.
What You'll Learn
Through interactive courses and live discussions, participants will:
- Understand the connection between student success skills and academic achievement.
- Build student competencies in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and decision-making.
- Apply pedagogical strategies to integrate student success skills into any subject area.
- Develop classroom and group practices for anti-bullying, conflict resolution, suicide prevention, and substance-use prevention.
- Learn how to establish and lead student success groups, service learning, and peer support programs.
- Reflect on practice, adapt strategies, and tailor instruction to diverse learners.
