Certificate in Student Success Skills in Education (SSSE)
The Certificate in Student Success Skills in Education (SSSE) is open to professionals working directly with students in schools, after-school programs, or higher education.
General Track & Focused Programs
No formal application required.
- Review program details and confirm eligibility.
- Select your course(s) from the [Course Registration page].
- Pay tuition by credit card or purchase order.
- Receive course access on the official start date.
Note: Courses must be completed one at a time, in order (Foundations → Pedagogy → Practicum). Focused Programs may be taken independently, but we recommend completing Foundations first.

Accelerated Track (Application Required)
For experienced professionals with 5+ years of consistent student success instruction.
The following 4 Eligibility Documents must be submitted for review and acceptance:
- Accelerated Program Application
- Resume/CV specifically highlighting the following:
- Teaching degree
- Your 5+ years of consistent and intentional SECD teaching experience OR workshop/training experience*
- SECD programs and/or skills/virtues taught to students OR at workshops/trainings (a running list of your specific SECD experiences)**
- The target population (grade, student, staff, parent, etc.)
- How often lesions took place per week OR how often workshops/trainings were held throughout the year
- A listing of each year SECD lessons were taught OR workshops/trainings were facilitated
* We are specifically looking for your 5+ years of ACTUAL SECD teaching experiences in a consistent and intentional approach OR your personal experience instructing/facilitating SECD workshops/trainings for 5+ years.
** Please be as specific as possible when listing SECD programs taught and/or how you intentionally integrated SECD into academic content
- Letter from your school principal: Must be on school letterhead and acknowledge your 5+ years of consistent and intentional SECD direct instruction to students OR of providing consistent and intentional SECD professional development directly to adults (staff/parents).
- One-page personal statement: Tell us why you believe you meet the eligibility requirements, your goals for acceptance into this program (what you are looking to get out of the program), your goals after successful completion, and what specifically you will bring to the cohort from your SECD 5+ years of experience. This letter of statement should be a minimum of one page, but not to exceed 2.5 pages double spaced.

Applications are reviewed by faculty, and decisions are communicated by email.
Deadlines & Course Access
- Registration closes one week before each course begins.
- Course access and login instructions are emailed on the official start date.
- Practicum courses run September–June only (not offered in summer).
Payment Information
- Tuition ranges from $313–$469 per course.
- Accepted payments: credit card or purchase order (must be submitted/approved before registration is confirmed).
- Refunds or transfers allowed only within the first week of a course.

Drop/Transfer Policy
Students will only be able to withdraw/ drop a course for a refund within the first week a course begins.
Students will only be able to withdraw from a course and transfer to another section within the first week a course begins.
