Dr. Wade received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992. Following a postdoc at the University of California at Los Angeles, she joined Michigan State University in 1995. She had faculty appointments in the Departments of Psychology and Integrative Biology, and was a member of interdisciplinary graduate training programs in Neuroscience and Ecology, Evolution & Behavior. She served as chair of the Psychology Department from 2010-17 and as Associate Provost for Faculty and Academic Staff Development from 2017-19. Dr. Wade then served as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut until she moved to Rutgers-New Brunswick to become the Executive Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences in July 2023. Her research, funded by the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation, focused on understanding the hormonal and genetic factors that regulate brain structure and behavior and used songbirds and lizards as model systems.
