Department of Psychology

Dr. Katherine (“Kat”) Denney is a behavioral neuroendocrinologist in the labs of Dr. Benjamin Samuels (Psychology) and Dr. Troy Roepke (Animal Sciences) studying the neural circuitry underlying sex differences in chronic stress responses. They received their PhD from Stony Brook University in 2023, and completed their thesis work on gonadal steroid hormone receptor expression in multiple social rodent species and transcriptional sex differences in acute stress response in mice in the lab of Dr. Jessica Tollkuhn at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Kat is part of the Rutgers NIH-IRACDA INSPIRE program.
