In-depth investigation of the cognitive and neural bases of language acquisition, informed by state-of-the-art research in psychology, cognitive science, linguistics, and neuroscience. Topics covered: phonological, lexical, morphological, syntactic, and pragmatic development; bilingualism, learnability theory, atypical language acquisition, and neurolinguistics.

01:830:351 or two 300-level linguistics (615) courses, or 185:410, or permission of the instructor. Credit not given for both this course and 01:830:353, 01:830:485, 01:615:373, or 01:615:433.
