I earned my Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Syracuse University. I study pedagogy (teaching) and issues related to social justice such as sexism and ethnic prejudice. I am broadening my theoretical approach to include how these social justice issues relate to our legal and political systems, and to our political ideologies. I am especially interested in how cognitive representations relate to the awareness of social injustice.

My teaching interests are broad, and include:

  • Introductory Psychology
  • Research Methods
  • Statistics
  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Social Psychology
  • Social Cognition
  • Self and Identity
  • Psychology of Gender
  • Psychology of Prejudice
  • Psychology and Law

Regardless of the course, my teaching philosophy centers on developing critical thinking skills, strong communication skills, social awareness, and social responsibility.
