Eligibility to Enroll into the General Track Program

The criteria to enroll General Courses 101 and 102 are as follows:

  • Currently enrolled in a College/University OR Associates Degree or higher (60 credits or more).

The criteria to enroll in the General Practicum Course are as follows:

  • Above criteria already submitted.
  • Successful completion of SEL 101 and 102 sequentially (corroborated with instructor).
  • A signed letter on letterhead from a school principal, director or supervisor acknowledging your applying to take the course and participate in the practicum.

How do I enroll in a single course or in the full program in Social-Emotional and Character Development?

To enroll in a single course or for the full program for professional development / inservice credit, all you need to do after reviewing that you satisfy the educational and other qualifications is:

  • Click the REGISTER link here or above.
  • To enroll in the Practicum Course (SEL 103), it is recommended that you first submit appropriate documentation (PDF of signed letter from Principal/Supervisor on letterhead) to the following email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and wait for confirmation and notification of acceptance via email or phone prior to registering for this course.
  • If you choose to register for Practicum Course (SEL 103) prior to submitting documentation and receiving an email or verbal confirmation of acceptance to this course, you may be deregistered. Notification will occur if this happens.
  • Check your computer capabilities for complete access to our Pearson Learning Studio (eCollege) site.

Eligibility to Enroll into the Accelerated Track Program

To be accepted into the Accelerated Program:

  • Currently enrolled in a College/University OR Associates Degree or higher (60 credits or more).
  • Currently employed as someone who provides direct instruction to students.
  • Has successfully initiated and implemented Social-Emotional and character development programming in your classroom, counseling sessions or after-school program for a number of years and can document this experience.

The criteria to enroll in the Accelerated Practicum Course (SEL 202) are as follows:

  • Above criteria have already been met.
  • A Letter on letterhead from a school principal, director or supervisor acknowledging your applying to take the courses, to be submitted prior to registration for the Practicum Course; submit to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Successful completion of the Accelerated Course (SEL 201, to be corroborated with the course instructor).

You will be contacted and notified of your eligibility for admission to the Accelerated Program. Following notification, you may register. If you choose to register for 201 or 202 prior to submitting documentation and receiving an email or verbal confirmation of acceptance to either course, you may be deregistered.
